Why?
The expedition is designed to enable our young people to develop leadership and organisational skills required for later life through participation in financial planning of the project, fund raising, procurement of transport and supplies. It’s about building self; Esteem, confidence, awareness, being part of a community: local and global.
What will they achieve?
An essential part of the program is a project. This has yet to be finalised but we are hoping to be in the Amazon, in the area of Madidi National Park which is an area of special protection and conservation of biodiversity which helps improve the quality of life of the original peoples of this area. We hope to part fund and participate in the ongoing projects of this area, contributing to the stability of the environment and indigenous culture.
What will it cost?
The project will cost in the region of £45,000. We are raising this through sponsorship and local fundraising events e.g. theatre productions, car washing, Christmas calendar, music night and so on. Many talented people have come together to help us and the support has been encouraging. Any contribution is greatly appreciated and will go a long way to help us achieve our objectives, Thank You
