My Bolivia Reflection by Rosie Clark

The thing I got most out of the Bolivia expedition was working with the children. It was so touching when you saw how delighted they were to see us and they were always happy and smiling even though they had so little. I also learnt from my experience how important it is to work as a team. On the second day of working at the school we thought we would never finish the basketball court. We had run out of tar and only completed half of the court. At lunch we gave up and came home early. The next day we were hoping to do the best we could and leave the rest for a world challenge group who were coming after us some weeks later. Everyone seemed to have a new burst of energy and we all worked solidly for the whole morning. By the afternoon we had only a quarter of the pitch to do and with everyone helping each other and working as a team, we got the job done even with time to spare to play with the children afterwards! This was what I found most rewarding out of the whole trip and it taught me how much can be achieved if you all work together.
